An Addiopiazzo activist will lead you through the city centre alleys along a path above the symbol-places of the fight against mafia. Teatro Massimo, Mercato del Capo, Piazza della Memoria, the Courthouse, Piazza Beati Paoli, the Cathedral, the Police Headquarters, the City Hall: every single stopover gives the cause for reflection about the phenomenon of mafia and the civil mobilisation against the power of mafia.
You will meet some shopkeeper who said NO to pizzo, joining the critical consumption campaign “I pay who does not pay”, fostered by Addiopizzo in order to sustain who fights against mafia.
The last stopover, where you can even have a free, not included lunch, is the “Antica Focacceria San Francesco”, an ancient restaurant whose owners had the courage to denounce their extortionists.
